Bringing Ideas to Life Through Visual Design and Animation

Exploring the fusion of artistry and functionality across branding, UI, and motion to enhance user experiences in games, web, VR, and mobile platforms.

From my early foundations in graphic design and user interface design to hands-on experimentation with advanced motion tools, my career has always been driven by a passion for visual storytelling. Over the years, I’ve cultivated a deep expertise in the entertainment and gaming industries, having contributed to major projects for Star Citizen, Ubisoft, Devolver, Télé-Québec, Radio-Canada, and the National Film Board of Canada.

My craft lies at the intersection of visual design precision and purposeful animation. I care deeply about detail, often spending the extra hours required to polish a layout, refine a transition, or craft a micro-animation that leaves a lasting impression on users and players.

Tshakapesh

Hands-On UI Design for a Mythical Platformer

Tshakapesh is a HTML5 2D platformer rooted in Innu mythology, developed in collaboration with illustrator Bjorn Feldmann for Radio-Canada and APTN. The game was released alongside an animated series produced with the Innu community, offering a meaningful and respectful tribute to their storytelling traditions.

Working in a small team at Turbulent, I led the visual direction, developing moodboards, designing the game's UI, the logotype, and crafting all marketing materials. Beyond the art direction, I also contributed to designing levels and collaborating with the developers to bring the world of Tshakapesh to life.

Star Citizen

Using Rive to uplift Star Citizen's motion & interaction Design

To bring more motion and interactivity to the Star Citizen platform, I taught myself Rive, diving deep into its state machines, timelines and data binding features.

This hands-on learning allowed me to create and ship a variety of animated UI elements, bringing a new level of polish and responsiveness to our web ecosystem.

Some of the enhancements I delivered include animated logos and icons, interactive background loops tied to user behavior, scrollytelling modules that respond to scroll position, and dynamic progress indicators. By integrating these Rive animations directly into our component library and CMS, I helped elevate the platform’s sense of immersion without compromising performance.

Ubisoft Watch Dogs Live

Designing Immersive UI for an Award-Winning ARG

Before the official launch of Watch Dogs, Ubisoft partnered with Publicis Montreal to develop Watch Dogs Live, a mobile ARG-style game designed to generate buzz and immerse players in the Watch Dogs universe.

Players could roam their real-world city, virtually "hacking" ATMs, traffic lights, and storefronts to earn points and climb local leaderboards.

I worked closely with Ubisoft’s design teams to shape the game’s visual identity, animations and gameplay interactions. The experience received multiple national and international awards in both entertainment and advertising, becoming one of Canada’s standout digital campaigns at the time.

ARK Starmap

Crafting an Immersive 3D WebGL Experience

As part of fulfilling a major Kickstarter promise, the Star Citizen Starmap was developed as a WebGL 3D immersive online map of the game’s vast universe. This ambitious project pushed technical and creative boundaries to deliver an interactive, explorable star system directly in the browser.

I partnered closely with engineers and 3D artists to define the art direction, contributing concept art for each visual element and designing the 2D interface to complement the 3D assets. The result was recognized as a Chrome Experiment and won the FWA/Adobe Site of the Year award, driven by fan votes.

The Coast VR

Designing a Colorful, Immersive VR Experience

For Montreal band Mister Valaire, we developed The Coast, a vibrant, immersive virtual reality music video designed for standalone Oculus headsets. Built in Unity by a small team at Turbulent, the experience allowed users to dance and interact with dynamic visuals in sync with the music.

I contributed concept art for the 3D artists, designed the UI and animated logotype, and worked on creating a mood that captured the joyful energy of the band’s sound. It was a playful and creative project that pushed me to better understand real-time engines and VR interaction. Released for free on the Oculus Store, the experience received very positive feedback.

Turbulent

Designing brands guidelines and award winning website

As part of a company-wide repositioning, I collaborated closely with a brand specialist to help define Turbulent’s new identity and communication strategy. Together, we clarified the company’s voice and visual positioning, ensuring it reflected both our creative culture and our technical innovation.

I took the lead on designing the complete brand guidelines for both digital and print applications, covering everything from typography and layout systems to tone of voice and motion design principles. This foundation supported all future marketing and internal communication efforts.

I was part of a small, focused team including a 3D artist and a creative developer. Together, we built the new Turbulent website as a dynamic, immersive experience. We pushed the boundaries of interaction and storytelling using WebGL animations to reflect our work in gaming and tech innovation.

The new site received multiple awards for its visuals and technical execution, including recognition from Awwwards and CSS Design Awards for innovation and user experience.

Devolver

Crafting Bold Web Design with Indie Attitude

As a long-time admirer of Devolver’s irreverent spirit and game catalog, I was thrilled to work with them on their corporate website redesign. The objective was to reflect the publisher’s bold identity while keeping things simple and accessible.

I crafted a site experience that put their games, merchandise, and iconic illustrations front and center—celebrating their vibrant visuals while staying true to their indie ethos. It was a chance to blend bold graphic design with functional UX for one of the most recognizable brands in indie gaming.
